SV650

What started in 1999 as a motorcycle built to deliver “V-Twin fun”, the Suzuki SV650 quickly became a rider’s phenomenon around the world.

Not only was this universal motorcycle well-suited for urban roads but it was right at home on the racetrack too.

Raising the “V-twin fun machine” performance even higher with latest Suzuki innovations, the SV650’s newest version now sets a higher standard. The new SV650 is a rider’s go-anywhere dream machine.

SFV650 Gladius

The SV650 was a tough act to follow and the current Gladius, launched in 2009, didn’t mess much with the recipe. The LAMS version is identical to the full-power SFV650 apart from a detuned ECU. It has the same low seat height that has attracted so many female riders. The same perfect fueling. The same light, silky action of the throttle, clutch and gearbox. All traits that make the bike easy to warm to and that build confidence.

Renowned for its versatility, reliability and value.

The V-Strom 650 has attracted many riders who use it for touring, commuting, or a fun ride when the spirit moves them. It is a touchstone motorcycle balanced with a natural riding position, comfortable seat and a flexible engine character that produces stress-free riding during brief daily use or a high-mile adventure. Adventure bikes are definitely a thing, and aren’t showing any sign of going away anytime soon, and Suzuki’s V-Strom (Deutsch for stream) is definitely one of the major players advancing the cause, as it were. A couple of years ago, Suzuki made the decision to drop the V-Strom 650 Adventure, and focus its energies on the base model 650 and 650XT. The result is palpable with a number of improvements for the 2017 model year that will likely endear these rides to their fans even more. This year we have more power, plus a traction control system to help manage said power as well as some nifty aesthetic tweaks and more, so join me while I take a look at what the factory has in store for us.

A machine that truly owns the highway.

Introduced in 2007 as a replacement for the long running 1200 Bandit, the 1250 has a liquid-cooled engine and produces almost identical horsepower to the old air/oil-cooled unit.

The new engine meets Euro-3 emissions, but more importantly produces its maximum torque of 108nm at just 3750rpm. This makes the new model an awful lot quicker in real World riding, especially overtaking, now without the need to rev the machine to its limit.

The new six-speed bandit is fuel injected and has a more relaxed power delivery with a broad spread of torque throughout its rev range. The engine is designed specifically for this model and is a delight in all areas.
